We’ve found that a lot of people think of porridge oats as being boring and bland. We disagree. They can be as exciting and tasty as you want them to be - you just need to spend a bit of time being creative with them.
Founder and Recipe Developer Hayley has devised the following recipe for Peanut Butter and Banana oats. She’s found that the best way to get the most flavour out of porridge oats is to soak them overnight. So this is a nice one to make the night before a big morning when you need some energy and goodness in you.
Ingredients
- ½ cup oats
- ½ mashed banana
- ½ cup almond milk (We love Rude Health's almond drink for this recipe)
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Toppings
-
Chopped nuts
- Dried apricots
- Peanut butter protein balls
Method
1. Place the oats in a bowl with the mashed banana, almond milk, peanut butter, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Mix through thoroughly and store in the fridge in a sealed container overnight to soak up all that goodness.
2. When you are ready to eat, remove from the fridge and drizzle with the maple syrup and sprinkle on the chopped nuts and apricots. Top with our Peanut Butter protein balls and you’re good to go!
