The Protein Ball Co is an award-winning food manufacturer based in Worthing, producing premium protein snacks for leading retailers, global brands and our own growing range.

Experience in food manufacturing is an advantage, but we're equally keen to hear from people with backgrounds in manufacturing, production, packaging, warehousing or other fast-paced operational environments.

What We're Looking For

You'll be someone who:

• Has experience in food manufacturing, manufacturing, production, packaging, warehousing or a similar hands-on environment
• Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing quality work
• Is reliable, punctual and flexible
• Learns quickly and enjoys working to clear processes and procedures
• Uses initiative and can adapt to changing production requirements
• Has good literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills
• Communicates confidently in English
• Is physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift up to 20kg
• Works well as part of a team
• Is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and food safety

Experience & Qualifications

The following would be beneficial, but aren't essential:

• Previous food manufacturing experience
• Food Hygiene & Safety Level 2
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Allergen awareness
• Experience operating production or packing machinery

Full training will be provided on our equipment, processes and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

Working across our protein ball, keto ball and porridge production lines, you'll help ensure our products are made safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating food processing equipment, including mixers, conveyors and packaging machinery
• Weighing ingredients accurately
• Packing finished products on manual and automated production lines
• Carrying out quality checks throughout production
• Following product specifications and work instructions
• Maintaining excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards
• Reporting quality issues or production deviations
• Preventing contamination risks and following allergen controls
• Ensuring traceability and labelling requirements are met
• Working in line with Health & Safety, GMP, Food Safety and Quality procedures at all times

Factory Hygiene Standards

To maintain our high food safety standards, all production staff must follow our hygiene procedures, including:

• Wearing PPE where required
• No jewellery (other than a plain wedding band)
• No piercings (unless medically required with GP evidence)
• No makeup, false eyelashes, perfume or aftershave
• No false nails or nail varnish
• Following strict handwashing, sanitisation and cleaning procedures
