General Assistant - Production & Packaging

Job description
Due to extensive growth and increase in production, The Protein Ball Co require
Production Operatives to work in our production facility in Worthing. This job description details the key attributes we are looking for and responsibilities of a Production Operative although this is not exhaustive. Experienced Operatives from a food manufacturing background is desirable but not essential.

Previous experience of working in food operation is desirable but not essential
This role involves tasks that require high levels of manual handling so the ability
to lift weights of up to 20 kilos is essential. This role also involves long periods of standing as most tasks require a high degree of flexibility and movement.

Food safety training will be given after a successful probation period. In the following fields:

  • Basic food hygiene and safety
  • Allergen Awareness

Main Responsibilities
To complete tasks in accordance with Company practices and procedures,
including work instructions. Tasks may include:

  • Working on protein balls production line
  • Packing protein balls by hand and with flow lines
  • Packing finished goods after production into ready to ship boxes
  • Following specification instructions, helping the department to achieve
  • its targets
  • Weighing up ingredients
  • Operating machinery and equipment in accordance with training given,
  • ensuring compliance at all times to health and safety procedures
  • associated with the machinery/equipment
  • Maintain hygiene standards through effective cleaning and thorough
  • housekeeping in the area they are working in
  • Measuring Quality at all points of the process
  • To adhere to the following policies and procedures at all times:
  • Health and Safety
  • Quality Assurance
  • Good manufacturing practice
  • Food safety and hygiene
  • Communicate to a Supervisor or Manager any concerns/issues and areas for
  • process improvement regarding;
  • Health and Safety

  • Food safety and hygiene
  • Errors/mistakes

Work Pattern
Hours of work are 4 days per week. 7am-7pm Mon - Thurs.

£10.50 per hour. Earning over £500 a week.
Staff retention scheme
A one off payment of up to £240 awarded after successfully passing the
probationary period.
